New YWCA Membership Chat! Meet Our New Guests and Other Visitors

Say Hello to Our New Guests in the Membership Chat!

Individuals who are interested in learning more about the YWCA before becoming official members are welcomed into our WhatsApp Membership Chat for up to one year. It’s a wonderful way to connect, ask questions, and experience life in the YWCA first hand. At
this time, we are delighted to introduce three new guests who have recently joined the group:

Arona Aranha

My name is Arona Aranha, and I am an EEG technologist—a healthcare professional who operates electroencephalogram (EEG) equipment to monitor and record brain activity and diagnose neurological conditions.  I have been working at the Princess Margaret Hospital for the past thirty years.

I have a passion for dancing and have had many years of teaching and mentoring individuals in liturgical dance. I lead a dance ministry called the Prophetic School of Fine Arts (PSFA) which is a space that allows anyone with a love for dance, flags, and mime to share their gifts.

I also enjoy reading and savoring a good meal, and exploring new restaurants is one of my favorite activities. This year marks my Jubilee as I turn 50, and I’m looking forward to all the wonderful things ahead.

Inger Neely

I am Inger Neely, and I have been practicing law for over twenty years. I’m married to Wayne Neely, and my hobbies include gardening, traveling, and reading. I am eager to explore opportunities that help me to grow spiritually.

Alexis Mackey

I’m Alexis Victoria Mackey, a local Bahamian author of two books, including a children’s book for little boys. Writing has been a passion of mine since childhood. Alongside writing, I love spending time in nature, especially sitting on the beach and watching the gentle waves.

I’m always eager to learn new things and look forward to discovering more about the YWCA.

NURSES VISIT THE YWCA

Nurses Month was observed in May, and the YWCA was delighted to host a special gathering led by Nurse Ampusam Symonette. The visit provided an opportunity for attendees to learn more about the Association’s Affordable Housing Program.

Rosalie Fawkes delivered an informative presentation, which was received with great interest by the group and following the session, the nurses enjoyed a guided tour of the facilities.

The YWCA extends sincere thanks to Deidre Baptiste for preparing a delicious meal. We also gratefully acknowledge the support of members Cheryl Seymour, Daphne McIntosh, and Dr. Donna Miller, who came out to assist and to warmly welcome our guests.
