Behind the Mission: YWCA Operations
Behind the Mission: YWCA OPERATIONS is a new program directed by Trustee and Management Boards. It provides individuals with a year-long opportunity to develop practical skills in leadership and community service. An integral aspect of the program will be the integration and implementation of the World YWCA’s Standards of Good Management and Accountability, ensuring that participants gain not only hands-on experience but that they also acquire a deep understanding of ethical and effective organizational practices.
Participants will gain an overview of multiple areas of nonprofit operations, including:
Governance & Leadership – participation in board and committee meetings
Law & Finance – understanding compliance and financial management
Communications & Public Speaking – building confidence through outreach and social media platforms
Program Development – assisting in the design and delivery of impactful community initiatives
Technology – learning tools that support modern nonprofit operations
Affordable Housing – engaging with community housing project issues
Global Engagement – participation in the World YWCA Council in 2027 (tentative)
