Honoring the Life and Legacy of Mavis Chea
Mavis Chea, served as the treasurer of the YWCA from the mid-1950s to the early 1990s. Her connection with the organization began in the mid-1950s when a colleague, Clarice Granger, invited her to Y meetings. Mrs. Chea was a part of the dedicated team that oversaw the building of Sands and Granger and the development of the Y's Herbal garden. Mrs. Chea shared that despite the demands of career and family, she always supported the YWCA and fondly recalls traveling as a chaperone with the Shirley Hall Bass Dance Troupe to workshops in Chicago.
