Volunteer Appreciation
Reflection on Scripture
In a recent Bible study at the YWCA, we reflected on the passage found in Matthew 25:35–46, where Jesus exhorts His followers to meet the needs of others. He reminds us that in serving those around us, we are in fact serving Him, and that neglecting the needs of people is equivalent to neglecting Him. This teaching reassures us that the mission of YWCA Bahamas as is expressed in its logo, “Creating programs to meet community needs”—is firmly in keeping with the commands of Christ.
Gratitude for Volunteers
We also recognize that the YWCA of The Bahamas could not have endured for more than nine decades without the unwavering commitment of our volunteers. Their dedication has been the lifeblood of this organization. Time and again, our members and friends have demonstrated true Christian virtue, offering countless acts of kindness—often unseen and uncelebrated—simply to uplift those in need. Their generosity has been a quiet testimony of faith in action.
